We are delighted to announce that on July 4 Rhéanne Chartrand stepped into a new role as full time Curator of Indigenous Art at the McMaster Museum of Art, following her one-year Curatorial Residency.

“The Residency was one of the best experiences of my life,” says Rhéanne Chartrand. “I was given space to flex my curatorial creativity and I felt supported by my colleagues throughout the entire year. It is an honour to now be given the opportunity to expand upon that work.”

Chartrand’s Residency resulted in two major exhibitions: Unapologetic: Acts of Survivance (January 12 – March 25, 2017) and Coyote School (June 8 – August 19, 2017), a roster of related tours and programmes, and extensive research to be published later this year.
