October is Women’s History Month in Canada, and we’re celebrating by featuring the art and wisdom of Canadian woman artists on social media each day for 31 days!
This year’s theme is #MakeAnImpact. According to Status of Women Canada, the theme honours “the women and girls who’ve made a lasting impact as pioneers in their field. Whether as business leaders, politicians, researchers, artists or activists, these women of impact have helped shape Canada into a thriving, diverse and prosperous country through their achievements and desire to make a difference.” Throughout the month, we’ll be highlighting artists, curators and arts educators and their significant contributions to the field of art and beyond.
Keep your eye on our @macmuseum Instagram, and Twitter feeds this month to learn more about some of the inspirational women who, we are proud to say, are all represented in McMaster’s Canadian art collection and join the conversation about women who #MakeAnImpact.
