VIDEO: Artists’ Talk by Simon Frank and Tor Lukasik-Foss | TH&B

October 26, 2016

Talk by TH&B Hamilton Artist Collective

We are delighted to be able to share this recording of a recent talk at the Museum by Hamilton artists Simon Frank and Tor Lukasik-Foss. The two members of the TH&B artist collective (which also includes Dave Hind and Ivan Jurakic) took us on a fascinating journey across, around, and through the Great Lakes, as they spoke about the history and development of the group’s artistic collaborations.

To the artists – thank you for a truly engaging presentation, for moving us to ponder our own relationship to this region where we live, and finally for a deeper understanding of the installation outside our doors (Basin, is on view in the Museum’s Artist garden. 2016-2018). We can’t wait to see what you do next!

To everyone else – Enjoy!

ABOUT TH&B

TH&B is the creative partnership of Simon Frank, Dave Hind, Ivan Jurakic and Tor Lukasik-Foss, a group of visual artists operating out of the Hamilton, Ontario area. Resuscitating the moniker of the defunct railway that once serviced the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo rail corridor from 1895-1987, since 2008 the team has been developing projects that respond to the context of the so-called rust belt, a region defined by its connection to the Great Lakes. Collaborating on all aspects of authorship, research, and development, TH&B explores unexpected intersections between industry, culture, urban infrastructure and the natural environment.
