Last week, we welcomed Art Historian Dr. Robert J. Belton to the Museum where he delivered a public talk on Paralanguage – what it is, how visual artists use it, and how it imparts meaning in specific works of expressionist art now on display in the Museum.
Thank you Dr. Belton for an eye-opening and lively talk, as well as the discussion that followed. We look forward to reading your essay “Expressionism’s Paralanguage” in the forthcoming Living Building Thinking publication.
Thank you also to the crowd, for your support as well as your assistance as we squeezed in a few more chairs. For those who could not be here, the video recording is online. Watch it now:
The talk was presented as a complement to the exhibition Living Building Thinking: art & expressionism. The touring exhibition is organized and circulated with the generous support of the Museum’s Assistance Program, Canadian Heritage.
