We are especially delighted to see visual artists Shelagh Keeley and Shelley Niro receiving this award. We’ve had the great honour of working with both of these artists over the years on exhibitions and have acquired their works for McMaster’s permanent collection.

McMaster’s collection boasts one untitled work by Shelley Niro, on a 50 foot wide tar paper roll, and twenty works by Shelagh Keeley from her series A Space for Breathing.
At this time, one of Shelley Niro’s photograph’s – shown at the top of this post – is on view at McMaster Museum of Art in the exhibition, Unapologetic: Acts of Survivance.
