New and recent work by London-based artist Thelma Rosner, focusing on aspects of geographic place, culture, and notions of ‘home’. Rosner’s recent series, Border and Dictionary make reference to Israeli and Palestinian communities connected by customs and histories despite being divided by continuing conflict. An exhibition catalogue produced in collaboration with Museum London is available.

sterrenstof, the Dutch word for “stardust,” is an installation of new work by senior Canadian artist John Noestheden, now based in Hamilton. It continues his interest in the cosmos and origins. His collaborative work with Shuvinai Ashoona was shown at the 2012 Biennale of Sydney, and at the National Gallery of Canada, 2013.

Curators: Gregory Davies, Assistant Professor with McMaster University Art History students: Adam Carter, Ariel de Aguiar, Taithleach Gillettsmyth, Mira Qamar and Anna Wisniowski.
This exhibition examines 17th century society and attitudes about ownership and possession through a selection of Baroque still life paintings, portraits and genre scenes from the Museum’s collection.

The Togo Salmon Gallery has been rededicated as a space to showcase exclusively McMaster’s collection of antiquities. The inaugural exhibition—co-curated by Owen Phillips and Dr. Spencer Pope, both in the Department of Classics at McMaster University—features a wide variety of objects from the ancient Mediterranean dating from c. 1400 BC to c. 300 AD.
