The famous Impressionist artist Claude Monet studied the changing effects of light on the same location over time and varying weather conditions. He painted the same scene over and over again – like the McMaster Museum of Art (MMA) Monet painting of Waterloo Bridge, which is one of forty-seven views of the same scene!
Together, we can create our own Monet-inspired artwork here on campus.
To be a part of #McMasterMonet, just find the wooden post on the MMA front lawn, rest your phone on top, take a pic, and add it to Instagram with the tag #McMasterMonet. That way we’ll all take a photo of the same scene at different times of day, months of the year, and weather conditions!
Browse through all the other tagged pics and see for yourself a Monet study of McMaster’s campus!
Will your pic be a bright and sunny October?
A golden autumn?
Will you go #nofilter?
Celebrate your time here on campus and help us create a #McMasterMonet!

McMaster’s Monet painting is on view at the Museum of Art now until December 9 in the exhibition A Cultivating Journey: The Herman Levy Legacy.
