Wednesday, July 22 from 11:30 – 1:30
McMaster Museum of Art
Facilitated by Hamilton Artist (and McMaster Fine Art alumnus) Leslie Furness.
Join us for a step-by-step lesson to create your own painting of French artist Claude Monet’s famous Waterlilies painting to take home with you!
Workshop and materials are free.
Light refreshments provided. Space is limited.
Thursday, July 23 from 11:30 – 1:30
McMaster Museum of Art
Facilitated by Alise deBie, Mad Students Society
Come to the Museum to engage in creative play, puzzles, board games, Lego, colouring and art making to unlock the creative imagination inside! Enjoy a small gift of art supplies you can use at the workshop and take home with you.
Alise deBie is a ‘crazy’ grad student who likes to have fun. Alise knows there’s lots of evidence to prove fun is good for you so come to this event, have fun and add to the evidence (you can call it research on your CV!).
Alise is also a member of the McMaster Mad Students Society (MSS). The MSS was created in 2005 and is a community of and for students who have past/present experiences with psychiatric/mental health systems. We meet to support each other, discover tools for self-advocacy, and connect with our history and broader social movements. Check out our website at www.madstudentsociety.com.
Lunch is provided.
Friday, July 24 from 11:30 – 1:30
Join graduate students who are also undercover artists at the reception for the Year of Creativity Graduate Student Amateur Art Exhibition, hosted by Irena Radisevic. Meet these undercover artists and their performances at the McMaster Museum of Art’s Education Gallery.
Refreshments will be provided.

Year of Creativity is a Forward With Integrity project coordinated by McMaster graduate student Irena Radisevic in partnership with Nicole Knibb, MMA’s education coordinator and the McMaster School of Graduate Studies. It includes series of workshops and symposium for graduate students that will encourage the exploration of creativity and innovation through expressions in art. The goal is to foster creative thinking and create a multidisciplinary community that supports dialogue and exploration in a dynamic environment outside of the classroom.
