McMaster BFA’s annual graduating exhibition will be presented online on April 29, 2021
Curated by guest curator Alexis Moline, QUIXOTIC will display work from the McMaster BFA Class of 2021, as well as virtual artist talks and more in celebration of their hard work and dedication over the past four years. In light of the covid-19 pandemic, this exhibition will again be presented virtually and will be available on our website on April 29th.
About the Exhibition
The 2021 SUMMA Exhibition explores the quixotic, all that is deemed idealistic, starry-eyed and impractical. Working and creating under unusual circumstances, quixoticism has become a liberating vehicle for these artists to explore and sharpen their craft. This show encapsulates the multiple ways that these bright young artists have adapted, grown and investigated the undeniable cruciality of art and quixotic perspective in tumultuous times.
Artists: Amanda Jameson, Antonella Mendola, Ashley Plante, Cait Gautron, Donna Nadeem, Eryn Penner, Evelyn Bohn, Javan Wellum, Jet Coghlan, Jill Letten, Juliana Duimstra, Julianna Biernacki, Lynda Dong, Mariana Quinn, Megan Mercier, Payton Husk, Selena Schaefer, Taylor Tabry-Dorzek, Teba Faisal
Join us on April 29th for a virtual launch event that will feature an introduction to the show by QUIXOTIC curator Alexis Moline, a virtual walkthrough of the exhibition, and announcements of the winners of the Curator’s Award and Faculty Award. The People’s Choice award winner will be selected by the public via an online poll launching on April 29. A digital catalogue will also be available for download.
