Two artist talks at the Museum in the last two weeks — one by Jeff Thomas and another by Nicole Collins — demonstrated once again how enlightening and inspiring it is to hear accomplished artists speak about their own work.
Collins’s talk extended to include works of art in McMaster’s collection, works she had felt a connection to and had selected for the Breaking Black exhibition. Among them, Anselm Kiefer’s Yggdrasil. Further to her talk, I thought I’d share this BBC video of Anselm Kiefer speaking about his own work a few years back:
