The latest exhibition at the McMaster Museum of Art, Conspiracies of Illusion, includes digital C-prints by leading American artist David Reed. The images, Judy’s Bedroom, Scottie’s Bedroom and The Kiss (all from 2005), are taken from Reed’s bedroom ensemble installation where he incorporated his own vibrant and gestural paintings into scenes from Alfred Hitchcock films.

As always, it’s fascinating to hear from the artist himself. Look and listen to this Talk by David Reed, a 2002 video by the Tate in which Reed speaks at length about his art and, at the 30:20 minute mark, specifically about the bedroom ensemble, complete with excerpts of the moving image work.
