The Museum is located at the centre of the University campus at the corner of Sterling Street and University Avenue (Attached to Mills Memorial Library) with the entrance facing west. It is easily reached by public transport with HSR buses stopping at the door. Paid parking is nearby. The closest parking is in McMaster University Parking Lots B & C.

McMaster Museum of Art offers free guided tours for all ages as well as hands-on educational activities customized to suit your interests. All of the galleries are wheelchair accessible.

Individuals and groups with less than 10 are welcome to visit to galleries, no appointment necessary, during our open gallery hours or enjoy the outdoor Walking Tour of Campus Sculpture.

The MMA Reference Library houses the museum’s modest collection of books, artist’s files and exhibition catalogues and is located in the lower level Education Gallery. The volunteer-run library has grown significantly in recent years thanks to generous donations. Its collection reflects and supports the McMaster Museum of Art Permanent Collection. The MMA library is an outstanding resource for staff, students and researchers.
The MMA Reference Library is open by appointment only.

Photocopying charges: 10 cents per page (30 page maximum)
Payment upon request. Copies ready for pick up at Reception Desk within 3 days.
Books in the McMaster Museum of Art Library are included in the McMaster University Library Catalogue.
The Museum Board Room is available for bookings at the McMaster Museum of Art and is free for University groups.
It is available only during open Museum hours:

Thursday 11am – 7pm
Friday 11am – 5pm
Rates are for one day.
Some audio-visual equipment is available.
Food and drink is permitted in this room.
