This year, Pamela Edmonds, Senior Curator at McMaster Museum of Art was one of the adjudicators for the City of Hamilton’s 2020 Arts Awards. We are pleased that award week has come at last and to be part of this celebration of the arts in Hamilton.

In place of our annual in-person Arts Awards event, please join us online in viewing a series of five videos to be released as part of Hamilton Arts Week.

Join host Laura Ellis (host of Cable 14’s arts program Backstage Pass) as we announce award recipients in 11 categories and get to know their work through studio visits, interviews and performances. Episodes will also feature expanded nominee profiles and messages of support from City leadership.
The kick-off episode (June 12) will conclude with a performance by Hamilton Youth Poets exploring themes of Resilience. The series will close with a special performance by emo dream pop artist Ellis (June 20) whose tour of debut album Born Again was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
