The McMaster Museum of Art was one of the fascinating spaces on campus featured in the February 2010 Doors Open McMaster, a special event organized as part of the McMaster Alumni Association Community Campaign.

Visitors saw how the University’s internationally recognized collection of more than 7000 objects is stored, conserved, consulted and prepared for exhibition. Nicole Knibb and Teresa Gregorio led two concurrent tours which included the Museum’s vaults; state of the art Paper Centre; a private viewing of collection favourites including works by Goya, Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Munch and van Gogh; a demonstration in the preparatory work room and conservation area; as well as an opportunity to browse current exhibitions.

Check out the Museum’s collection online or book a tour of your own.
